Biomedical Informatics: Interoperability and supporting reuse of health data

Health data exist in different formats and on different systems, such as primary care GP clinics and hospitals across the UK. To enable mining across those data sources, the data models and medical terminology used need to be interoperable. With the large amounts of electronic health data being collected brings the question of how they can be reused in areas such as clinical research.

Trust in agent-based systems

The focus of my PhD research is on how agents can efficiently interact with one another, despite the uncertainty involved. The ability of agents to adapt to changes in their environment and dealing with collusive behaviour are some of the issues I am interested in resolving.
